1967 Mercury Cyclone '427' R-Code - $140,000

FOMOCO fanatics and collectors, here is a classic muscle car that you will rarely, if ever, see become available for acquisition. With only (19) such examples being produced, how many could possibly be left in existence? Better yet, how many are still around that are in concours-restored condition such as this ultra-rare jewel? This is one of the most rare full-size Mercury muscle cars left on the planet! In nearly 15 years of dealing in high-end classic cars & muscle cars, I have never seen another one. 'Red Hills Rods and Choppers' is very proud to be able to offer you this absolutely gorgeous 1967 Mercury Cyclone '427' R-Code, that recently underwent a no-expense spared, rotisserie restoration to factory correct specifications. The second owner, who had the car for nearly 15 years, spent over $200,000 restoring this amazing R-Code Cyclone. The final result is nothing short of spectacular! This 1967 Mercury Cyclone is visually stunning from every angle, with excellent body & paint. The VIN stampings on the radiator support and fenders show that much of the original 100% rust-free sheet metal remains intact. The Elite Mart Report breaks it all down and lets us know exactly how this awesome machine left the factory back in 1967. Again, only (19) '427' R-Code Mercury Cyclones were built in 1967, and this one came w/ just the right equipment in my opinion. Factory options include: 427ci / 425hp (R-Code) Side-Oiler Dual-Quad Motor, Toploader 4-Speed Manual Transmission, 3.89 Nodular Rear Axle, (Code T) Cardinal Red Paint, (Code 8A) Black Vinyl Bucket Seat Interior, Console, AM Radio, Heater Delete, Tinted Glass and Firestone F70-14 Wide Oval WS Nylon tires. Of the (19) '427' R-Code Cyclones that were built, (19) of them came w/ a 4-Speed Manual Transmission, (5) were painted Cardinal Red, (2) had Black Vinyl Bucket Seats and only (1) was ordered Heater Delete. This is that car! When you slide inside, you will swear on your life that it's 1967 all over again! The factory correct Black Vinyl Bucket Seat interior is absolutely perfect from front to back. Everything looks exactly how it did when she left the Lorain plant w/ the only deviation being a pair of period-correct Water Temperature & Oil Pressure gauges that were mounted under the dash. These can be easily removed, but I will leave that to the new owner if he or she decides to do so. All of the gauges, lights, blinkers, etc. work perfectly. Even the original AM radio sounds great and the lighter gets hot! Please look closely at the photos and you will just how spectacular this interior really is. Now let's get to the heart of this incredible machine, shall we? Under the hood lies a correct and completely rebuilt 427ci FE Side-Oiler motor w/ Dual Quads (casting # C5AE-H), w/ all original FOMOCO parts/components! The 427 Side-Oiler is linked to a correct Toploader 4-Speed transmission, which feeds power to the 3.89 gears. She starts, runs, drives & performs perfectly and is a BLAST to drive! She sits on correct 14x6 steel wheels w/ impossible to find factory correct Mercury Cyclone Wheel Covers, which were restored to 'new' condition. Wrapped around the factory correct steel wheels are a brand new set of Firestone F70-14 Wide Oval White Sidewall tires, just as she left the factory with 47 years ago. Please look closely at the undercarriage photos and see the amount of work & detail that went into restoring this super-rare vehicle. Finding OEM parts for this Cyclone is next to impossible and can only be achieved by spending years searching & scouring the internet. Anyone who has ever restored a 1967 Mercury Cyclone will tell you how time consuming & nearly impossible it is to get one to this level. There is simply not another like it. Everywhere I take this Cyclone, people will gather around asking "Is it real or "Did they really make a '427' Cyclone? My answer is always YES to both questions! I always thought that the 1966 Ford Fairlane 427 R-Code cars were such rare birds w/ only 50 examples being built, but only (19) of these R-Code Cyclones left the factory, making it one of the rarest full-size muscle cars in the world! The new owner will get the Elite Marti report, the Original Owners Manual, the Original Keys, a 3" binder full of before & after Restoration photos, a binder full of Restoration receipts, an Original 1967 Ford Shop Manual, an Original 1967 Mercury Sales Brochure and a New Jersey '427 FE' License Plate. This special car is for the high-end muscle car collector who only wants the finest, most rare American muscle cars in the world. There is not another example such as this anywhere @ any price. Enclosed shipping is available anywhere in the world at the buyer's expense.
