1967 Chevrolet Impala SS427 Sport Coupe - $90,000

After 13 years of selling classic cars, muscle cars & hot rods, it’s becoming hard to get excited when a new vehicle arrives on our showroom floor. We have seen a little bit of everything over the years and have become used to selling the best classic cars that money can buy, but when this vehicle arrived, my heart raced and I got chills up & down my spine. ‘Red Hills Rods and Choppers’ is very happy to be able to offer you this absolutely gorgeous, numbers matching, rotisserie restored and fully documented 1967 Chevrolet Impala SS427 Sport coupe, finished in its factory correct (Code C) Ermine White wrapped around a beautiful (Code 873) Red Vinyl Bucket Seat Interior. I have never seen another fully documented example of a ’67 Impala SS427 in my life. An interesting note about the 1967 SS427 is that you will not find the name ‘Impala’ anywhere at all on the body. Chevrolet engineers must have wanted to make sure that people saw these special Impalas as SS427s. Most of the marketing of the time illustrated these cars as the ‘Chevrolet SS427’. Mr. Robert Sam & Ms. Susan Spoon walked into Bob Thomas Chevrolet & Cadillac Co. in Bend Oregon on Halloween night, October 31st, 1970, and purchased this 1967 Chevrolet Impala SS427. She was built @ the Compton California GM Plant and left the factory with ALL of the right options, which makes this sought-after vehicle even more desirable. Factory options include: 427/385hp Turbojet engine, Muncie M21 4-Speed Manual Transmission, 3.70 Positraction Rear Axle, Power Steering, Power Front Disc Brakes, Strato-Bucket Front Seats, Center Console, Comfortilt Steering Wheel, Front & Rear Bumper Guards, Tinted Glass, AM/FM Radio w/ Rear Speakers, Rear Mount Antenna, Left Outside Remote Mirror, Mag-Style Wheel Covers and Color Key Floor Mats. Robert & Susan thoroughly enjoyed their Impala until Mr. Spoon passed away in 1980, at which time the car was put into storage by the surviving family members. The Impala remained in storage until 1998, when it was sold to Mr. Thomas Moran of Caribou, Maine. At the time of this sale, the actual mileage was just over 26,000. Mr.Moran began a comprehensive body-off restoration and found the car to have all of its original body panels, which were completely rust-free, with no signs of any sort of damage whatsoever. The restoration was completed in 2000 and the car was sold shortly thereafter to Kevin Gallop and his wife Ms. Debra Henderson, who enjoyed their Impala for the next 9 years. A second nut & bolt rotisserie restoration was performed in 2009, which brought the car to its current concours condition. It now sits on our showroom floor here in Saint George, Utah. The body on this Impala is laser straight from front to back and the (Code C) Ermine White paint is smooth & shiny like a new car. All of the chrome & bright work is beautiful throughout. This Impala SS427 Sport Coupe is visually stunning from every angle! Please look closely at the photos and decide for yourself. The beautifully detailed undercarriage is just as nice as the top, with correct paint daubs, chalk marks and factory stickers. It is quite obvious that countless man-hours were spent making this ultra-rare car worthy of winning top honors at any national level car event. When you slide into the perfect (Code 873) Red Bucket Seat Interior, you will swear that it’s 1967, and you are sitting on the Dealership showroom floor dreaming away! This interior is simply spectacular from front to back! By far the most popular feature was the round "pod" type instrumentation used in this 1967 model year. The optional ‘Special Instrumentation Package’ is very well laid out and features three large round gauges that includes a tachometer, speedometer and clock, w/ four smaller gauges, two on either side, that consisted of the gas gauge, ammeter, water temperature and oil pressure indicators. The tachometer redlines at 5,500 RPM, which is correct for the 427/385hp motor. With one hand gripping the beautiful Teak Steering Wheel and the other hand firmly gripping the factory Chrome Shifter, everything just feels ‘right’ while sitting inside this beautiful Impala SS427. All of the gauges, lights, blinkers, etc., work perfectly, as you would expect from a car of this caliber. Even the AM/FM radio sounds great and the lighter pops out red-hot! Now, let’s get to the good stuff, shall we? Pop open the hood and nestled inside the beautifully detailed engine bay resides the original numbers matching 427/385hp Turbojet engine, with its correct suffix code (T1010IE), as well as the partial VIN stamp. The original numbers matching 427/385hp engine is linked to the original numbers matching Muncie M21 4-Speed transmission, also stamped with the partial VIN, which feeds power to the original 3.70 Positraction Rear Axle. She fires right up w/ a flick of the wrist settling into a nice steady idle. When you get her out on the road, it will be hard to wipe the smile off of your face! This Impala SS427 runs & performs beautifully in every way, and is VERY fast! It is the quickest full-size car that I have ever driven, and is an absolute BLAST to drive! The factory Power Steering and factory Power Disc Brakes make driving around town effortless. This beautiful Impala SS427 is as comfortable as it is powerful, a perfect blend of luxury & performance. The most important ingredient is the original documentation, which includes: the original Protecto-Plate, original Dealer Sales Invoice from Bob Thomas Chevrolet (shows all options), original Owners Manual, original Registration Cards, Notarized Ownership History, original Options & Accessories booklet, piles of restoration photos and original Impala SS427 advertisements. This is an ultra-rare investment grade classic car in every respect and will only appreciate in value as the years go by. Whether you are searching for a classic that you can drive & enjoy, or one that you can have judged at any national level car event, you will be hard pressed to find a finer example anywhere @ any price. Enclosed shipping is available anywhere in the world at the buyer’s expense.
