This 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 has the most laser straight body that I have ever seen on a 50’s era vehicle and the body panels are perfection. The base coat-clear coat gloss black paint (Ebony Jet Black Obsidian) is flawless and looks as though it’s a mile deep! Restoration work also included: All stainless trim straightened & polished, all new window rubber & felt, new windshield, new side glass, new window cranks and new inside & outside door handles. She has won many awards including ‘Best Of Show’, ‘Best Paint’, ‘Best Ford’, and was chosen to represent Maryland in the 2012 Ford Nationals. When you slide into the beautiful rolled & pleated interior, you will be amazed at how soft and comfortable the black Ultra-Leather feels and how period correct everything looks. Black loop pile carpetw/ extra insulation was installed and the original 1957 Ford steering wheel was completely refurbished. All of the stainless interior trim is in show condition, and the original dash w/ original gauges look perfect. A Narragansett Reproductions wiring harness was used, the original speedometer was rebuilt and all of the original gauges, clock, lights, blinkers, etc., work perfectly. (2) Stewart Warnergauges were mounted under the dash to monitor water temperature & oil pressure. A Mooneyes Tachometer is mounted on the steering column and looks very cool. The Vintage Air Conditioning & Heat is mounted under the dash and blows ICE COLD, and the Pioneer AM/FM/CD Remote Controlled Sound System is conveniently located in the glove box and sounds awesome! The trunk is completely finished in matching rolled & pleated black Ultra-Leather w/ spare tire, trunk mounted battery and battery cut-off switch. Now let’s get to the heart of this beautiful Kustom show car! Open the hood, and nestled inside the beautifully detailed engine bay, you will find a completely balanced Ford big-block 390 ci motorbored .30 over w/427 camshaft & rods, 406 heads w/ hardened exhaust seats, ARP bolts, Fel-Pro gaskets, Ford Tri-Power intake manifold w/ (3) Holley carburetors (rebuilt by Holley), Melling high-volume oil pump, Holley fuel pressure regulator, Mallory electronic distributor, 8mm Taylor ignition wires, stock cast-iron exhuast manifolds w/ 3” exhaust & Flowmaster mufflers, 90 amp G.M. alternator, high-volume water pump, Griffin custom aluminum radiator and (2)Scott electric fans on relays. The Ford 390 ci motor is linked to a Ford C6 transmission, custom built by Phoenix Transmissions, which delivers power to the Ford 9” rear w/ 3.50 Trac-Lock gears. Underneath everything is new including: new rear leaf springs, new rear air gas shocks, heavy-duty rear sway bar, heavy-duty front sway bar, heavy-duty front gas shocks, front dropped spindles 1 ½”, new front custom built coil springs for 2” drop, front disc brakes w/ new high performance lining, rear drum brakes w/ new high performance lining and rebuilt steering box. This ’57 Ford starts, runs, drives, sounds & performs beautifully and is a BLAST to drive. She also has the perfect stance, sitting on 15” Keystone Classic wheels w/ Goodyear tires (P205/70/R15).
