Here is special little machine for all you British hot-rod fanatics!

‘Red Hills Rods & Classics’ is very happy to offer you this absolutely gorgeous one-of-a-kind 1962 Austin Healey Sebring Custom! This amazing Austin Healey was built by Obsessive Customs here in St. George, Utah in 2011, and is the product of a dream-car idea by Keith El-Bakri, also a long time resident of St. George, Utah. Keith wanted a true work of art, as well as a wonderful driving show car, and the final results speak for itself. In the process, he and Obsessive Customs also created a ride that annihilates the performance of the original.

The body is a complex combination of steel & fiberglass, and it took countless hours of manpower to get the results that they wanted. A short list of features include: shaved moldings, front bumper eliminated and shaved, front lights shaved, custom hand-fabricated hood, hand-rolled and fabricated inner wheel wells & belly pans, original Austin Healey grille, chrome Cobra mirrors, as well as hand-made accent pieces such as the custom-made hood-scoop, window and door tops, fender louvers, etc. Because of the changes they wanted to make, such as integrating the front bumper into the body and removing the fender beading, they had to incorporate steel and fiberglass. Since they expand at different rates, they literally had to let it sit in the desert sun for weeks to monitor the expansion. It was a complicated build to say the least, but it was worth every second, and every dollar spent. The entire body was then lathered in glossy Black paint, which gives the car its mean and ominous appearance. She has a perfect stance, and sits on polished REV Volante wheels, wrapped in BG Goodrich G-Force radial tires (245/45/ZR17 on the rear & 205/50/ZR17 up front). You can walk around this car a hundred times and it looks absolutely perfect from every angle. Underneath you will find a plethora of modern components that give this little Healey its special handling & performance, including: custom-built frame rails to accommodate the lowered engine & front suspension, Mustang II-style front end, 2” drop spindles, Heidts QA1 coil-overs front & rear, rack & pinion steering, anti-roll bars, shaved/smoothed/painted control arms & spring pockets, custom-made triangulated four-link setup, Currie rear end w/ limited-slip differential, custom driveshaft w/ custom-made Spicer joints, steel Panhard bar, and on and on. Please look at the undercarriage photos to see how nicely everything was done.

Open the driver’s door and you will find a gorgeous custom-designed black & tan leather interior that is as easy on the eyes as is it comfortable. Interior features include: leather-wrapped wood dash, full set of Classic Instruments gauges, Flaming River steering column, leather-wrapped billet 3-spoke steering wheel, Vintage air conditioning w/ billet AC vents, Alpine CDA 9886M CD/MP3/WMA/AAC receiver, (4) Alpine speakers, Painless wiring kit, Lokar pedals, billet control knobs, billet door handles, billet window cranks, and black carpeting throughout. The custom interior is absolutely beautiful and fully functional in every way.

Now, let’s get to the heart of this beast, shall we?

Pop open the hood and you will find a gorgeous 350ci SBC motor, completely dressed up w/ blinding chrome components. Features include: H345 NCP pistons, (10:1 compression), Crower valves & springs, stainless-steel roller rockers, Camelback cast-iron cylinder heads, American Custom camshaft, chrome finned valve covers, chrome Offenhauser intake manifold, (3) chrome Rochester 250cfm 2V carburetors, MSD ignition & spark plug wires, Sanderson headers, custom-built 2.5” exhaust system w/ MagnaFlow mufflers & quad Porsche exhaust tips, Stewart Pro-Series water pump, CFR dual-pass aluminum radiator, etc. This mean little powerplant produces 435hp w/ 465 Ft./Lbs. of torque, which is a load of power for a car that weighs in @ around 2,000 pounds! The motor is linked to a GM TH350 automatic transmission w/ a high-stall converter, which feeds power to the Currie limited-slip rear end. Once you get rolling, the impressive stopping power comes from the Wilwood 14” rotors on all four corners. Not only is this Austin Healey an absolute blast to drive, but it gets more attention than you’ve ever had in your life. This car is an absolute show-stopper, and everywhere that you go, folks will be gathered around snapping photos on their smartphones.

After the completion of the build, the car was entered in many national level car events, such as the ‘Grand National Roadster Show’, the ‘Salt Lake City Autorama’, the ‘Intermountain Concours d’Elegance etc., where it took ‘First Place’ in its class. Every single automotive show or event that she entered, she left w/ a ‘First Place’ or ‘Best of Class’ award! It was also featured in several automotive magazines, including Motor Trend, where the car was praised for its originality and stunning good looks. The new owner will receive many of the awards & trophies, a book featuring photos of the restoration as it progressed, as well as the free & clear title, stating that she's a 1962 Austin Healey Sebring, so insurance & registration is no problem at all.
