Wow! Feast your eyes on this absolutely gorgeous, numbers matching 1962 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible, finished in its original factory color combination of (Code A) Starlight Black wrapped around a beautiful (Code 269) Red Tri-Tone Morrokide Bucket Seat interior! This super-rare Bonneville Convertible was sold new at Lynn Pontiac in Richmond Virginia and has only seen a little over 54,000 miles, hence the incredible condition that its in today. With only one re-paint in its entire life, much of the car is still in its original form, which tells you how she was cared for over the years. The original sheet metal is incredibly straight all the way around the car, and the Starlight Black paint looks as though it’s a mile deep, which a rich lustrous shine. The chrome bumpers are in beautiful condition, as is the chrome around the headlights, taillights, etc., and the original stainless trim down the sides are in nice condition, especially for being over 50 years old! The black convertible top is correct and looks like new. The trunk is finished correctly w/ original jack, spare tire and the super-cool factory reel-out trunk light, which works great. As you walk around this car, it is hard not to be in awe of how absolutely gorgeous it is from every angle. Pontiac was truly leading the way in 1962 with their ‘Wide-Track’ look, which started in 1959 and took the country by storm. These full-size Pontiacs have a look & style all their own, that’s for sure! When you slide into the original Red Tri-Tone Morrkide Bucket Seat interior, you can’t help but feel like it’s 1962 all over again. Please look at the photos closely and see how beautiful this interior really is. All of the stainless, including dash & center console, is outstanding and the original steering wheel is in mint condition. The red carpeting looks to be new, but 95% of the interior is original to the car and in amazing condition. The gauges, lights, blinkers, etc., works beautifully, with the exception being the AC, which is all there but does not blow. Again, the black convertible top looks new and powers up & down perfectly. Open the hood and nestled inside the nicely detailed engine bay is the original numbers matching 389 ci motor linked to its original numbers matching Hydromatic transmission. The motor and transmission were rebuilt to factory specifications, at which time a correct Tri-Power carburetor set-up was added. The three deuces are tuned to perfection, so she starts, idles, runs and performs beautifully. She’s got lots of torque and is an absolute blast to drive. The factory Power Steering and factory Power Brakes make driving this full-Size Pontiac around town effortless. She sits on correct 8-Lug Wheels w/ new white wall tires just like she did over a half century ago. This beautiful 1962 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible is fully documented w/ full PHS paperwork, and the new owner will also receive the original Owners Manual, original Owner Protection Plan booklet and original 1962 Pontiac Service Manual. These Pontiac ‘Wide-Track’ cars have become very collectible, and when you find a convertible such as this, finished in arguably the best color combination available, with only 54,350 original miles, well it doesn’t get much better.
