Now sitting on our showroom floor here @ ‘Red Hills Rods & Classics’ is this absolutely beautiful numbers matching 1963 Chevrolet Impala 9-Passenger Station Wagon, recent winner of the Goodguys ‘Period-Correct’ Award in Pleasanton California! According to the original Cowl Tag, this rare jewel was built on the 5th week of November 1962 (11E) @ the Los Angeles assembly plant, and then was sold new @ John Drew Chevrolet in Sacramento California. This ultra-rare Impala Wagon left the factory with ALL of the right options, that’s for sure! Finished in factory correct (Code 914) Monaco Blue Metallic wrapped around the factory correct (Code 842) Two-Tone Medium Blue/Light Blue Vinyl interior, with original factory options that include: 327/300hp High Performance engine, Borg-Warner T10 4-Speed Manual Transmission, 3.36 Posi-traction rear axle, Factory Tachometer, Four Seasons Air Conditioning, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power Front Seat, Power Rear Window, Deluxe Grill Guard, Deluxe Chrome Roof Rack, and AM Pushbutton Radio.

This ’63 Impala Wagon spent its entire life in sunny California and ultimately underwent a complete restoration in 2013. All of the original sheet metal was 100% rust free throughout, which really made the restoration process much, much easier. She was professionally refinished in factory correct Monaco Blue Metallic, which is absolutely gorgeous & literally explodes in the sunlight. The entire interior is 95% original to the car and is absolutely MINT throughout! Look closely at the photos and see how spectacular the interior is on this rare Impala Wagon! All of the gauges, light, blinkers, etc. work perfectly, and even the ‘Cold’ light goes on when first started. The clock keeps perfect time and the lighter pops out hot! This is a very special Wagon indeed!

Open the hood and nestled inside the beautifully detailed engine bay you will find the original numbers matching 327/300hp motor with engine stamp (F1107RK), which tells us it was built on November 7th 1962. The (RK) suffix code reflects a 327/300hp motor w/ Manual Transmission & Air Conditioning. The original numbers matching motor is linked to the original numbers matching Borg-Warner T10 4-Speed Transmission, which is stamped (WL2621) December 26 1962 1st Shift, as well as a partial VIN stamp. The original numbers matching 4-Speed transmission feeds power to the original 3.36 Posi-traction rear axle, which is stamped (BM1126) 3.36 Posi November 26th.

This Wagon starts up with the flick of the wrist, no cranking necessary, and settles into a nice smooth idle. She runs, drives, steers, brakes & performs beautifully in every way, and is one of the finest driving classic cars that I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. The strong-running 327/300hp motor has unexpected power & torque, and the Borg-Warner T10 4-Speed transmission shifts smooth as butter with no grinding or weird noises whatsoever. Again, I have driven hundreds & hundreds of classic cars/muscle cars and this 1963 Chevrolet Impala Wagon is up at the top of the list! I would not hesitate to jump in this Wagon and drive her across the country, if I only had the time! Anywhere that I take this Impala Wagon, there is a huge crowd surrounding her within minutes.
