1965 Ford Mustang GT A-Code

SOLD!

Nothing excites me more than to acquire a classic car that not only has all of the right features but also has an interesting and very unique history. Such is the case with this gorgeous fully loaded 1965 Ford Mustang GT ‘Notchback’ Coupe. I have never seen another 1965 Mustang that had so many factory options and for the lack of a better word, ‘all the right stuff’. Also, I have never seen another 1965 Ford Mustang with so much original documentation and paperwork, dating back to day one. She was shipped to Al Packer Ford in Baltimore Maryland, where it sold new on August 31, 1965, to Mr. Kemp Carroll Gatling. A photo of the dealership on the day that the Mustang was purchased is included in the documentation. The Al Packer Ford dealership is still in existence in Baltimore and the late Mr. Packer and the late Mr. Gatling were personal friends. Mr. Gatling was the great-nephew of Dr. Richard Jordan Gatling, inventor of the ‘Gatling Gun’. This 1965 Ford Mustang GT factory 4-Speed car left the factory finished in arguably the best color combination available, Raven Black w/ Red Interior, came loaded with factory options, and Mr. Gatling had the dealership add several more accessories before he drove the Mustang off of the lot (all documented on the dealer invoice & window sticker). Factory Options include: 289 4V A-Code motor, 4-Speed Manual Transmission, GT Equipment Group, Power Steering, Interior Décor Group, Console w/ Fordair Air Conditioning, Rally-Pac Clock & Tachometer, Studio Sonic Sound System, Rear Seat Speaker, Visibility Group, Padded Visors, Back-Up Lamps, Tinted Glass w/ Banded Windshield, Heavy-Duty Battery and 695 X 14 Red Band Nylon Tires. Dealer Installed Accessories include: Cobra Valve Covers, Accessory Air Cleaner, Accessory Scuff Plates, Compass, Luggage Rack, Spot Light, Passenger Side Mirror and Pony Floor Mats. As I said before, she is LOADED! Mr. Gatling kept his Mustang for 20 years and in 1985 he sold it to Bob & Charlotte Connor of Baltimore Maryland. Mr. Gatling died in 2001 and his obituary is included in the documentation. Also included is a snap shot of the Mustang on the day that Bob Connor bought the car in 1985. While the Connors owned the car it was partially restored, mainly the engine and suspension. Mr. Connor had the motor balanced & blue printed, and he also beefed up the suspension using all Shelby components. Bob Connor bragged that he had gone 140 mph on the local racetrack and had passed quarter mile times of high 14’s. Mr. Connors sold the Mustang in 1995 and there have been two other owners before it came here to Utah. It now sits proudly on our showroom floor, waiting for a new owner. Her appearance and condition today are outstanding in every way. This beautiful 1965 Ford Mustang GT still retains all of its original sheet metal and original drive train. It has NEVER been in an accident or had any bodywork and all of the panels fit wonderfully. The Raven Black paint is absolutely gorgeous and looks to be a mile deep. All of the chrome & stainless trim is beautiful as well. The red pony interior is completely original, and is simply gorgeous. No rips, tears or blemishes anywhere to be found. All of the gauges, lights, blinkers, radio, lighter, EVERYTHING, works beautifully, and the factory Fordair Air Conditioning unit blows nice and cold! Open the hood and inside the beautifully detailed engine bay resides the original 289/225 hp A-Code engine with its original dealer installed Cobra Valve covers, linked to the original 4-Speed transmission, which feeds power to the original 3.00 rear end. I have driven many 1965 Ford Mustangs but none have had the power & torque that this car has! It starts, runs, drives, steers and brakes perfectly and is an absolute BLAST to drive! She is extremely quick and will roast the tires if you stab the throttle. This is a very special 1965 Ford Mustang GT, finished in the best colors and featuring the best options available in 1965. As I stated earlier, she’s heavily documented with paperwork dating back to day one. Documentation includes: original hand-written sales order, original typed dealership sales invoice, original window sticker, (2) original build sheets, original owners manual, original factory shipping tag, copies of original titles for Mr. Gatling & Mr. Connors, original registration papers, original photo of Al Packer Ford on the day of purchase, original photo on the day that Mr. Connor purchased the Mustang, Mr. Gatling’s obituary, complete maintenance/repair records & receipts, original ‘Mustang Club of America’ awards and on and on! The entire span of this special 1965 Ford Mustang GT’s life is completely documented! What more do you want in a classic car? She’s got it all: incredible appearance, original drive train, original sheet metal, outstanding performance and a history that is interesting and fully documented from day one. This is an investment grade classic car in every sense of the word! You simply cannot go wrong investing in a collector car of this stature.
