We have been dealing in high-end muscle cars, classic cars/trucks, and hot rods for over 25 years, and we have seen just about everything roll through our doors. That being said, the vehicle that you are looking at now is on a very short list of the most beautiful classic pickups that we have ever seen!

‘Red Hills Rods & Classics’ is proud to offer you this absolutely stunning 1966 Ford F100 SVT Lightning Restomod pickup, the recipient of a 10+ year restoration/build that was just completed two weeks ago! This truck is an absolute show-stopper folks! The builder’s goal was to create the finest 1966 F100 shortbed pickup on the planet, using all Ford-related parts, and let’s just say that he hit it straight out of the park! The level of quality that was achieved during this build is second to none, period. The project started w/ a clean, rust-free 1966 Ford F100 2WD pickup from Arizona, over a decade ago. The body was blasted & primed, and countless hours were spent making sure that all of the panels were laser straight, and all of the body gaps are absolutely precise throughout. A rear roll pan was added, and the doors were shaved/trimmed for gap fitment (much better than the factory ever offered). The body trim, emblems, and antenna hole were shaved as well. Approximately 150 hours were spent fabricating the custom lightweight hood, which replicates the original body lines while accommodating the height of the supercharger. The body was then lathered in Porsche Grey/Black paint (Code 7A1), which looks absolutely amazing on this truck, and gives it that mean ominous look. The paint job cost $40,000+, and when you see the truck in person you will understand why. All of the extra body pieces were powder-coated, including the grille, upper grille panel letters, headlight bezels, tail light surrounds, hood hinges, hood latch/catch, side body mirrors, and windshield wipers (which are not installed but do come with the truck). The side & rear glass were ceramic coated w/ a slight tint, which looks excellent. A stainless-steel master truck bolt kit was used throughout the truck, which really adds that perfect final touch. The bed area features a custom laser-cut aluminum floor by Smokey Road Rod Shop, w/ a digitally printed woodgrain finish, which came out beautifully. The stock metal bed floor is still completely intact w/ no holes drilled for the bed kit other than for the fuel neck filler.

In regards to the custom chassis work, an Industrial Chassis fabricated front end & cross member were professionally installed by Duffy Motorsports (based on a 1987-1996 Dodge Dakota). Other chassis upgrades include: Mustang II rack & pinion steering, AQ1 Pro adjustable coil over front suspension, Heidts 4-link rear suspension w/ billet springs, shortened Ford 9” posi-traction rear end w/ 31-spline carrier & Dutchman axles (for wider tires) done by American Hot Rod, custom heavy-duty 53” driveline by Driveline Services, upgraded BAER 4-wheel disc brakes (custom front rotors from Carid ID, and custom slotted rotors on the rear by BAER), and a 1970 Mustang fuel tank under the rear. This gorgeous pickup has a perfect stance, and sits on 20” Rocket Racing Attack titanium wheels (20” x 8.5”) wrapped w/ beefy Nitto G2 radial tires (255/45/R20 on the rear & 245/40/R20 up front). You can walk around this truck a hundred times and it simply looks perfect from every angle!

Now, let’s get to the heart of this beast, shall we?

Pop open the hood and inside the beautifully detailed engine bay you’ll find a 2000 Ford Lightning 5.4L SVT motor, which produces well over 500HP. Everything on the motor was completely gone through beforehand, w/ the Supercharger being sent to Colorado for rebuild & porting. Features include: all high nickel fasteners, new heavy-duty 4-core aluminum radiator w/ dual electric fans, Hyperfuel EFI fuel tank & pump system, Mustang Cobra hydroboost system for excellent steering & brakes, stainless-steel brake & fuel lines, and on & on. Under the hood you’ll also notice the polished aluminum firewall bulkheads for the Gen II Vintage Air system, Vintage Air Super Flow aluminum horizontal condenser, aluminum Heat Seek transmission cooler, 22” stainless-steel steering shaft, stainless-steel universal steering joints, aluminum remote style power steering reservoir, etc. A Ron Francis wiring kit was used for the motor, which had custom engine programming done. Nothing was overlooked on this amazing truck! The Lightning motor is mated to a professionally built Lightning 4R100 transmission (E4OD rebuild kit), using a heavy-duty torque converter, F8 front pump, cast iron front plate, 6 pin rear plane, B&M deep oil pan, etc. This transmission is ready for any high-horsepower motor that you throw at it, period! She fires up instantly w/ the flick of the wrist, and the first thing you notice is just how amazing she sounds. This is due to the custom 2.5” dual exhaust system done by Darrel’s Exhaust, featuring electronic cut-outs (when you really want to get their attention), Flowmaster Super HP-2 stainless-steel mufflers, and Roush exhaust tips. This truck runs, drives and performs beautifully in every way, and has loads of power & torque to spare. It is an absolute blast to drive and will get more attention than you have ever had in your life. The entire build was completely documented w/ photographs, invoices & receipts, which will all go to the new owner.

Needless to say, this is a very special truck in every way! Whether you are searching for a classic truck that can win ‘First Place’ awards at any national level automotive event, or one that can simply be driven & enjoyed to the fullest w/ all of the modern amenities that you could ever ask for, it would be nearly impossible to beat this perfect 1966 Ford F100 SVT Lightning Restomod pickup!
