What happens when you invest $75,000 into a full frame-off nut & bolt rotisserie restoration on an original numbers matching 1967 Chevrolet Nova SS L30 4-Speed car? THIS is what happens! Feast your eyes on this absolutely stunning ’67 Nova Super Sport 327/275 L30 4-Speed car, probably the finest example in the world, finished in its factory correct (Code Y-2) Butternut Yellow w/ Black Vinyl Roof, wrapped around a beautiful (Code 780) Black Vinyl Bucket Seat Interior w/ Console. Keeping a low profile was vital to the Nova’s street credibility, so the classic & understated color lets the hardware underneath do all of the talking. Even the ‘SS’ badge on the grille is very subtle, leading many to speculate that GM engineers were sneaking these cars out the door without widespread approval from the brass. Whatever the story may be, this car is most definitely a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Keeping a purely stock appearance was of utmost importance when restoring this jewel and the final result is simply outstanding! The 100% rust-free sheet metal is laser straight, with no ripples or blemishes anywhere, and the Butternut Yellow paint was applied so well that the car looks wet & shiny from every angle. The chrome bumpers & stainless trim is all brand new and is virtually flawless. The correct Black Vinyl Roof is brand new as well, and really makes the Butternut Yellow pop. The trunk was also finished to stock specs, with correct spatter-finish paint, new OEM trunk mat, spare-tire and jack. When you slide into the absolutely perfect Black Vinyl Bucket Seat Interior, you can’t help but feel like it’s 1967 all over again. The correct black bucket seats w/ silver stripes, door panels, dash, everything is flawless and show quality throughout. The original Nova gauges all work perfectly, as does the ultra-rare period-correct column mounted Tachometer, which was a dealer-installed option in 1967, for one year only. The stock chrome shifter sits on a perfect chrome console, and the Rosewood steering wheel simply looks outstanding. From front to back and from top to bottom, the interior of this ’66 Nova SS is perfection! Walk to the front of the car, open the hood and nestled inside the beautifully detailed engine bay you will find the original numbers matching 327/275 hp L30 motor (suffix V0627ZA) which was fully rebuilt, and looks as fresh as it did 46 years ago. The L30 was one of Chevy’s most easy-to-live-with high-performance mills and had a fat bottom end that made it the perfect sleeper. Built w/ stock internals, save for an upgraded cam and new TRW pistons, it rumbles with just the right voice, and the lopey idle definitely attracts plenty of attention. The original 327/275 hp L30 motor is linked to an original Muncie M20 4-Speed transmission, which feeds power to the original 3.08 rear axle. She starts, runs and performs beautifully in every way and is a BLAST to drive! The added Power Disc Brakes work perfectly and will slow you down in a hurry. With less than 250 miles since the completion of the build, the new owner will be the first to really break her in. The correct 14” Rally Wheels and new Firestone SS D70-14 Redline tires really finish off that perfect vintage look. The original owners manual, original custom features & optional accessories booklet, original 1967 Chevy II brochure, extensive photo documentation of the frame-off restoration and ALL of the restoration receipts will go to the new owner. The 1966-1967 Chevy Nova’s are really coming on strong in the collector car world, with 327/350 L79 examples fetching six-figures regularly. The 327/275 L30 cars are following closely behind so it’s time to move now, before prices get out of hand.
