You are bidding on a perfect, all numbers matching and heavily documented 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS 350 4-speed car! This beautiful X55 Camaro underwent a no expense spared, frame off nut & bolt restoration and is absolutely mint from front to back and from top to bottom. This (3) owner car was originally purchased @ Knauss Chevrolet in Tigard, Oregon on May 29, 1970. The original owner, Mr. Stephen B. Marshall, drove the car 82,402 miles and he kept every single piece of paperwork on his Camaro from day one! In the mid 80’s, the car was parked and sat until May of 2000, when the second owner, Mr. Thomas Kunde, found the car in Portland, Oregon and began the extensive two-year restoration mentioned earlier. The car was completely disassembled, restored, cleaned and rebuilt. This incredible Camaro retains ALL of its original body panels and floor pans. All of the panels were media blasted down to bare metal and finished to stock specifications. The entire sub-frame, inner fenders, engine pulleys, battery tray, radiator support, suspension components, etc., were professionally powder coated for superior durability at the recommendation of Camaro expert Jerry Macneish. The correct (Code 59) Frost Green base coat/clear coat paint was applied and wet sanded to a mirror finish. The correct black stripes were painted on prior to clear coating. All of the chrome and stainless is either completely restored or brand new, and the (Code S) Midnight Green vinyl top (rare option!) is brand new. All of the soft-ray glass is original and mint, with a correct date coded windshield. She sits on her original date coded XT COPO rims and brand-new redline tires. The correct (Code 721) Medium Green interior was completely restored to stock specifications, including new headliner and sail panels. All of the original gauges, including the rare center fuel gauge and original shifter & console were also completely restored. When you slide into this interior, you will swear that it’s 1969 all over again! It is absolutely perfect everywhere you look. Under the hood, nestled inside the beautifully detailed engine bay, lies the original numbers matching 350/300 hp engine and all of its original date coded components. The original 350/300 engine was professionally rebuilt to stock specifications and completely detailed. The front stamp pad reads: T1007HA (Tonawanda Plant ~ October 7th 1969 ~ 350/300 hp w/ standard transmission). The partial VIN is visible near the oil filter and numbers for all of the original date coded components are as follows: Cylinder Heads (#3947041), Intake Manifold (#3927184), Quadrajet Carburetor (#7029203), Distributor (#1111488), Exhaust Manifold Left (#3942527) & Exhaust Manifold Right (#3946826). The alternator, air injector reactor (including AIR pump & smog tube), bell housing and water pump are also original to the car. The original numbers matching Muncie M20 4-speed transmission was also professionally rebuilt and has the partial VIN stamped on the side casing with the date code P9R02A (Muncie ~ 1969 October 2~ M20). The original numbers matching 12-bolt rear end was also professionally rebuilt and is coded BM0929G (3.31:1 ratio ~ September 29 ~ Detroit Gear & Axle Plant). Every component on the drive train was completely rebuilt, restored or is brand new. In addition, Jerry MacNeish restored the smog system, spiral shocks and brake booster. This gorgeous 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS 350 starts, idles, runs and drives beautifully and the factory power steering and factory power disc brakes make it an absolute blast to drive! The original 350/300 motor runs perfectly with plenty of power/torque and the original Muncie M20 shifts smooth and easy like a brand new car. She tracks straight as an arrow w/ no funny noises or vibrations. Inside, all of the gauges, lights, blinkers, radio, etc., all work perfectly as they should. Again, the original owner kept every document that he ever got his hands on including: original Protecto-Plate, original owners manual w/ original plastic glove box sleeve, original pre-delivery service and adjustment check sheet, original dealer packet, original ignition & trunk key knockouts w/ original key bag, original Oregon title in the original owners name, original Oregon Motor Vehicle Division passenger renewal card w/ original cellophane tabs envelope, original certificate of compliance / clean air certificate, original AM/FM radio operating instructions and a complete set of restoration photos, before & after.
