1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 428 Super Cobra-Jet

‘Red Hills Rods & Classics’ is very happy to offer you this absolutely beautiful 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 428 Super Cobra-Jet, finished in its factory correct color combination of Silver Jade (Code 45), wrapped around a beautiful Black Clarion Knit/Vinyl Hi-Back Bucket Seat interior. Per the Marti Report, this ’69 R-Code Mustang Mach 1 was ordered w/ a plethora of desirable factory options, including: 428ci Ram-Air Engine, 4.30 Traction-Lok Axle (Drag-Pack), C-6 Automatic Transmission, Power Steering, Power Front Disc Brakes, Sport Deck Rear Seat, Visibility Group, Tinted Glass/Complete, AM Radio, Power Ventilation, and F70x14 Goodyear Tires.

She underwent a complete rotisserie restoration several years back and is in beautiful condition throughout. The bodywork is excellent, and the Silver Jade paint looks amazing on this car! All of the chrome items, front grille, emblems, decals, headlights, taillights, factory Shaker Hood, etc., are also in excellent condition throughout. She has just the right stance, and sits on original 15” Magnum 500 wheels, wrapped w/ BF Goodrich T/A Radial tires (245/60/R15 on the rear and 215/65/R15 up front). The undercarriage is super clean, just like the rest of the car, including the floors, torque boxes, frame members, pinch welds, rocker panels, etc. All new suspension components, fuel lines, brake lines, etc., were added as well. Please look closely at the photos of the undercarriage to see how nicely things were done.

Open the driver’s door, and you will find the beautiful & 100% factory correct Black Clarion Knit/Vinyl Hi-Back Bucket Seat interior (Code 3A), which was completely replaced during the restoration. Other interior features include: original 3-point woodgrain steering wheel w/ rim-blow horn, center console w/ automatic floor shifter, stock dash w/ woodgrain accents, original gauges, original AM radio, sport deck fold-down rear seat, seat belts front & back, and factory correct black carpeting w/ red inserts. The interior is in factory-stock condition throughout, and shows extremely well. All of the gauges, lights, blinkers, AM radio, clock, etc., are in perfect working order. The trunk area was completely restored as well w/ the correct trunk mat, correct F70-14 spare tire w/ cover, and correct jack assembly.

Pop open the hood, and inside the nicely detailed engine bay you will find the correct 428ci Ram-Air motor, lathered in Ford blue paint, w/ correct finned Cobra-Jet valve covers, and topped w/ the factory Shaker Hood. Features include: original 428 Cobra-Jet heads, dished pistons, Holley 4150 4V 700cfm carburetor, PerTronix Igniter 2 electronic ignition, original cast-iron exhaust manifolds, correct Ford dual exhaust system, etc. The engine has 100% stock internals and was rebuilt to factory specifications. The 428ci Ram-Air motor is linked to a correct C6 automatic transmission, which feeds power to the Ford 9” 4.11 limited-slip rear end. This car was born w/ a 4.30:1 Drag-Pack locking differential, but was changed to a 4.11 during the restoration, for a more pleasant driving experience. She fires up nicely, settling into a nice smooth idle, and she runs, drives & performs beautifully. The factory power steering & factory power disc brakes make driving around town effortless.

This ’69 Mach 1 428 SCJ gets a huge amount of attention anywhere she goes, as the color combination is simply stunning, and rarely seen on this car. She also left the factory w/ many of the most sought-after options of that era, which is extremely important to muscle car collectors. The new owner will get the Marti Report, owners manual, Mach 1 key chains, along w/ several pages of decoding information.
