Of course, the original Build Sheet will break down every single color code & option, and the car sits here today just as it left the factory in 1969. This award-winning Plymouth was purchased new on April 7, 1969 @ Ewell Chrysler in Glen Burnie Maryland by Mr. Jay O’Dell, and like many rare family jewels it was passed to his son as a cherished keepsake. It has remained in the O’Dell family its entire life! In early 2008, that son sent the car to Champion Auto Body in Pasadena Maryland to receive a professional frame-off restoration. No patch panels of any kind were used as the original sheet metal was in such pristine condition. They also decided not to completely restore the undercarriage, as the original floors were so solid that it would have been a shame to alter the originality of the car. The original undercoating is still in place after 44 years and looks great. It now sits on our showroom floor as a beautifully restored, numbers matching, all-original sheet metal, heavily documented award winning collectors item that will make any Mopar collector ecstatic! The original sheet metal is super straight all of the way around the car and the correct (Code B5)Blue Fire Poly paint is absolutely gorgeous. I think it’s safe to say that B5 Blue will always be a favorite among true Mopar fans, especially when it’s combined with one of the coolest interiors that Plymouth ever created. Open the door and you will amazed to find that much of the beautiful (Code P6C)Blue & White interior is original to the car and in absolutely incredible condition! The White Bucket Seats w/ Console are gorgeous and again look outstanding with the B5 Blue exterior. All of the original gauges were rebuilt, including original Tachometer, and they work wonderfully. While you are sitting their with your left hand on the original steering wheel and your right hand firmly grasping the original Hurst Shifter, you can’t help but feel that it’s 1969 all over again. This interior is absolutely beautiful from front to back and from side to side. Now step out, go to the front of the car and open the hood. Nestled inside the beautifully detailed engine bay, you’ll find the original numbers matching 383/335 hp Super Commando V8 stamped with the correct 2468130 casting number with the correct partial VIN. More popular than Chrysler's famed HEMI, and almost as feared, the 383 Super Commando V8 was designed to be Plymouth's best combination of comfort, reliability and performance and again, only (85)Sport Satellite Convertibles left the factory w/ this potent motor in 1969. The engine was professionally rebuilt by Jeff Walton Restorations in Pomfret Maryland to stock specifications and runs better than it did when it was new. Everything appears to be factory correct from the carburetor, Chrysler wires, heavy-duty radiator, Mopar red cap battery, authentic squeeze clamps on the correct Mopar hoses and on and on. The bottom line: it was done right! The original motor is linked to the original numbers matching A833 4-Speed transmission, which is stamped with the correct partial VIN, which feeds power to the original 8.75 Sure-Grip rear end w/ correct 3.23 gears. She starts, idles, runs and drives perfectly, with plenty of power to spare. The factory Power Steering and factory Power Brakes make driving around town effortless. This is by far one of the most beautiful B-Body Convertibles that I have ever seen in my life, and let me add that I am not the only one who thinks so, as this Plymouth has racked up many impressive accolades during its time on the show circuit. Here is an itemized list of the car’s major accomplishments: First Place @ 2012 AACA Apple Blossom Meet in Winchester Virginia, First Place @ 2012 National Chrysler Products Club National Meet in Frederick Maryland, Second Place @ 2011 AACA Howard County Fair & Antique Car & Truck show, Second Place @ 2010 AACA Grand National Meet in New Bern North Carolina, Second Place @ 2004 AACA Grand National Meet in Buffalo New York, Second Place @ 2004 Plymouth National Summer Meet in Battle Creek Michigan, Second Place @ 1998 AACA Annual Grand National Meet in Cherry Hill New Jersey, First Place @ 1998 Plymouth 70th Anniversary Meet in Plymouth Michigan, First Place @ 1998 National Chrysler Products Club National Meet, Second Place @ 1997 AACA Annual Grand National Meet in Cedar Falls Iowa, Second Place @ 1997 National Chrysler Products Club National Meet, Senior Award Winner @ 1996 AACA National Fall Meet in Jacksonville Florida, First Place @ 1996 AACA National Special Fall Meet in Chesapeake Virginia, First Place @ 1996 Plymouth National Fall Meet in Newark New Jersey and First Place @ 1996 National Chrysler Products Club Annual National Meet.
