1970 Pontiac GTO Convertible 455HO

SOLD!

The world was changing every day in 1970. The Concorde made its first supersonic flight at more than 700 mph, the Beatles split up after recording ‘Let It Be’, and 240,000 U.A.W. members struck out against General Motors for improved working conditions. The muscle car scene was similarly changing, because a single-minded focus on performance wasn't cutting it with buyers any more. Pontiac's GTO, which launched the muscle car phenomenon of the 1960s, found itself flailing in a sea of imitators in 1970. To stand above the crowd, this year's GTO got a handsome restyle, a host of different big-bore engines, and a fantastic number of luxury and performance options. These qualities are what makes the 1970 Pontiac GTO one of the most highly sought-after muscle cars of the era.
