This Viper GTS Coupe was purchased brand new on December 24th, 1997, (Christmas Eve) @ Claude Short Dodge in Santa Monica, CA. by Mr. Nguyen Long, and then stayed w/ its original owner until just recently. She has always been stored in a climate-controlled environment, and was meticulously cared for & maintained by Mr. Long from the day that he brought her home. She now sits on our showroom floor here in St. George, Utah, in ‘like-new’ condition throughout. The Viper Blue paint is absolutely exceptional in every way w/ a brilliant mirror-like shine. There are absolutely NO scratches, NO dings, and NO blemishes to be found whatsoever. She sits on the original 17” polished cast aluminum wheels, which are in outstanding condition, wrapped w/ the original Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires (275/40/ZR17 up front & 335/35/ZR17 on the rear). You can walk around this car a hundred times and you will not find a single distraction. She is simply as close to ‘perfect’ as they come. The undercarriage is ultra-clean, and it is here where you can truly see how well this Viper GTS has been cared for (see photos).
Open up the doors and you will find a ‘pristine’ black Premium Leather Highback bucket-seat interior that still looks & smells ‘like new’ in every way. The black leather seats & steering wheel have always been wrapped in plastic when not in use, and are both in perfect condition, as is the rest of the interior. All of the electrical components are in perfect working condition throughout, as you would expect from a sports car of this caliber.
Open the hood, and nestled inside of the beautifully detailed engine bay you’ll find the original 8.0-Liter V10 motor, which produces 450hp w/ 490 Ft. Lbs./Torque, linked to the original T56 6-speed manual transmission. These cars are an absolute blast to drive, and were very much ahead of their time in many ways. Being able to experience a car that you might have dreamt about in your childhood, but which was impossible to attain at the time, is truly a fantastic feeling to be sure.
Mr. Long was as meticulous in regards to the original paperwork, as he was about caring for & maintaining his new Viper GTS Coupe. The plethora of original documentation includes: original window sticker, original owner’s manuals and manual supplements (in original black binder), original Chrysler order invoice, original dealership sales contract, original odometer statement, original agreement to furnish insurance, original Chrysler service contract & service contract application, original Dodge Viper Operating Tips VHS tape, original 1997 Dodge Viper service manual, original 1997 Dodge Viper parts catalog, original 1997 Dodge Viper dealership sales brochure, original Viper car-care brochure, original dealership license plate & license plate frame, original dealership key tags, original front license plate bracket w/ screws (unopened), original blue Viper car cover w/ Viper head logo in the original blue Dodge Viper bag, Viper Registry paperwork, magazines featuring the 1997 Viper GTS, (2) original Viper key fobs & keys, and of course a spotless one-owner CARFAX report. The title is still in the original owner's name, signed off to our dealership.
