Traditional Hot Rod collectors and fanatics, please feast your eyes on this spectacular 1929 Ford Roadster Pickup. Built to very high standards over a period of two years by a gentleman who understands what a traditional Hot Rod is all about. This gorgeous 1929 Ford RPU has won numerous ‘Best In Class’ awards in the Portland area and several magazines have contacted me about doing photos for their publications. The detail work is outstanding and nothing was overlooked. It all started w/ an all-steel Ford body that was extended slightly for driver comfort, sitting on powder coated ’32 rails. I am 6’2” and over 200 lbs. and I fit perfectly in this RPU. One of Chip Foose’s former employees performed all of the bodywork by hand and the final result is spectacular. The flawless paint is a PPG cream color that was very popular in the 1950’s and ‘Mitch’, complete with his hidden stick figures, applied the pin striping. The 1932 Ford grill was sectioned and the headlights are original Guide 682C’s. The all steel bed was completely hand built and the bed liner features handcrafted Zebrawood. The taillights are original 1939 Pontiac. The custom interior features: hand made aluminum WWII Bomber seats w/ original 1950’s fabric & custom leather, real aviation seat belts, handmade steering column w/ F1 steering box, early original Ford pedals, original 1939 Ford deluxe steering wheel restored and modified by Juliano’s, custom period correct carpet and a 1938 Ford deluxe dashboard w/ original working gauges. Again, the custom interior is super-comfortable and fully functional. Power comes from a 1946 Ford 59AB Flathead motor that was completely rebuilt w/ original polished Eddie Meyer heads, Thickstun intake w/ dual original Ford 94’s, original 1939 Ford 3-speed transmission, original torque tube and new Winters quick-change rear end. Underneath, she’s got a 4” dropped I-beam, transverse leaf-spring rear, original friction shocks on all four corners and Lincoln style brakes w/ original Buick drums up front. She starts, idles, runs, drives, steers and brakes better than any Model A Hot Rod that I have ever had the pleasure of driving. The Flathead performs beautifully and the 3-speed transmission does not grind like the others that I have driven. Out on the freeway she drives straight & true and the motor runs surprisingly cool. She has just the right stance and sits on original Ford spoke wheels w/ new Firestone tires by Coker. At every stoplight, people are jumping out of their cars to take photos w/ their smart phones. The bottom line: it drives & performs as fine as it looks, and it looks outstanding! She’s titled as a 1929 Ford Roadster w/ the VIN stamped into the frame, so registering & insuring is no problem at all. This beautiful 1929 Ford Roadster Pickup would have no problem gracing the cover of any Hot Rod publication. I will let the next owner get all of the glory. Don’t hesitate because she will not last long. Enclosed shipping is available anywhere in the world at the buyer’s expense.
