5-Window Coupe Street Rod

SOLD!

FOMOCO fanatics, feast your eyes on this absolutely beautiful 1940 Ford 5-Window Coupe Street Rod! The 1940 Ford Coupe is such an iconic body-style, and certainly one of the all time best designs to come out of Detroit in any era. This gorgeous Coupe received a full frame-off restoration and was built to win trophies, as well as to drive & enjoy to the fullest. The original all-steel 1940 Ford body was 100% rust-free before the build, and all panels are laser straight all the way around the car. It was then finished in the correct 1940 Ford color, Vermillion Red, which looks as though it’s a mile deep, with a rich lustrous shine. All of the chrome and stainless trim is show quality throughout. I dare you to walk around this car and find any angle where it doesn’t look simply outstanding! Open the driver’s door and slide into one of the most comfortable & fully functional interiors that you will ever experience in a 40’s era classic car. The fully adjustable seat & door panels are finished in a beautiful Mohair-style fabric, which really gives it that vintage feel. The original dash is painted body color and houses a set of (5) Classic Instruments Vintage series gauges, which all work perfectly. Other interior features include: tilt-steering column w/ Lecarra wrapped steering wheel, custom sound system and Vintage Air Conditioning & Heat, which blows ice-cold! Again, this interior is extremely comfortable, with all creature comforts at your fingertips. Open the hood, and nestled inside the super-clean & highly detailed engine bay resides a new 350 SBC motor with all trimmings. Every item under the hood is billet and/or chrome, including the valve covers, Edelbrock intake, Edelbrock carburetor, custom-built Headers, alternator, Vintage AC & Heat, pulleys, serpentine system, radiator, over-flow tank, EVERYTHING is polished and looks incredible! This beautiful motor is linked to a beefed-up TH350 automatic transmission, which feeds power to the aluminum Corvette rear axle w/ 3.31 gears. She starts, idles, runs & performs beautifully in every way and is an absolute BLAST to drive. The TH350 transmission shifts crisp and tight while accelerating, and downshifts smooth & quiet like a brand new car. The rack & pinion steering is tight & precise and the 4-wheel disc brakes work wonderfully, with no pulling, etc. Whether you are driving around town or on the highway, this 1940 Ford Coupe drives & feels like a sports car. The suspension has a lot to do with this. When the body was put back on the frame, they used rubber mounts to eliminate vibration. Again, an aluminum Corvette rear axle was used w/ carbon-fiber leaf springs, and double A-arm suspension w/ coil-overs up front. Please look closely at the undercarriage photos and you’ll see how much time & money went into this restoration! Nearly every component underneath is billet or chromed, including the front brake calipers & rotors. The custom exhaust system is stainless throughout, including the stainless mufflers, which are tucked up nicely w/ the pipes running through the frame. No corners were cut and no stone was left unturned during this frame-off restoration. One of my favorite features about this ’40 Ford Coupe is the perfect stance. She’s tucked down nice & low with a slight rake, which really gives this Coupe that ominous look. She sits on real Halibrand knock-off wheels (15” in the rear & 14” up front), with new BF Goodrich radials (P255/60R15 in the rear & 185/70R14 up front). Again, whether you are looking for a 1940 Ford Coupe that will win First Place trophies or one that you can drive & enjoy to the fullest, this is your car! You will be hard pressed to find a finer Ford Coupe anywhere at any price. Do not hesitate because she will not last long! Enclosed shipping is available anywhere in the world at the buyer’s expense.
