I have always felt that the 1956 Ford was the finest looking of all of the 50’s-era Ford trucks. Of course, everyone has an opinion on this, but you cannot deny that the ’56 just has that perfect vintage-truck look.
‘Red Hills Rods & Classics’ is very happy to offer you this gorgeous 1956 Ford F-100 Stepside Pickup! This truck was the recipient of a 7-year frame-off restoration by a gentleman who had waited his entire life to build a truck exactly the way he wanted it to be. Unfortunately, he recently passed away, and we acquired this pickup from his lovely widow, who stood by his side through the entire 7-year process. This included installing the complete running gear from a 1988 Camaro IROC onto the 1956 Ford PU Cab & Chassis, but more on this later. All of the bodywork is simply outstanding, w/ perfect body panel alignment, and precise gaps throughout. He finished his dream pickup in Jet-Black single-stage polyurethane paint, which has a beautiful glistening shine, and looks amazing on this truck. He decided upon chrome bumpers & mirrors, for that perfect contrast against the Jet-Black paint. All of the emblems, headlight housings, taillights, etc. are restored originals. The bed area is finished in oak-wood w/ chrome slats & screws, and looks absolutely wonderful. To get that sweet ride that he always wanted, he installed a Mustang II front suspension kit w/ rack & pinion power steering, and he boxed the frame in front & back of the Mustang crossmember. He also added front disc brakes for smooth stopping power. This truck rolls on vintage 15” American Racing AR39 wheels, wrapped w/ Toyo Spectrum radial tires (P215/65/R15). You can walk around this beautiful truck a hundred times, and it looks excellent from every angle.
When you open the driver’s door, you will find a 100% custom-made black interior w/ all of the whistles & bells that you could ever want. Many of the interior components were hand-made during the long restoration process. Interior features include: 2006 Cadillac CTS 8-way power/heated bucket seats, hand-made door panels w/ Ford logos, hand-made center console w/ Camaro IROC shifter, custom billet dash insert w/ a full set of Auto Meter gauges, Camaro IROC tilt-steering column, wrapped Billet 4-spoke steering wheel, air conditioning & heat w/ (3) adjustable vents, power door locks, Dual XDVDN9131 7” In-Dash Touch Screen Motorized TFT LCD Monitor & DVD Receiver w/ GPS Navigation, (4) Pioneer speakers (two 5 1/4″ coaxials on the sides of console & two 9″ triaxials behind the seats), Bluetooth plus iPod Control, alarm system w/ remote start, and much more. The steering column, wiring harness, computer & test ports, relays, etc. were brought over from the Camaro IROC. The interior looks great, and again, has all of the creature comforts right at your fingertips.
Pop open the hood and you will find the complete driveline from the 1988 Camaro IROC, which includes the 350ci Tuned-Port Fuel Injected engine, 700R4 automatic transmission, radiator & cooling fans, etc., linked to the 3.27 Posi-traction rear end. It really was an amazing project that was performed w/ absolute love & care. She fires up instantly, runs drives & performs beautifully, and is a real blast to drive.
The new owner will receive over 100 photos of the extensive restoration process, photos of the truck before the restoration, as well as photos of the 1988 Camaro IROC donor car. If you have been searching for a beautiful classic truck that can win awards at car events, as well as one that can be driven and enjoyed to the fullest, you will want to take a close look at this gorgeous 1956 Ford F-100 Stepside Pickup!
