If you have been searching for a classic Tri-Five Chevy w/ all of the creature comforts, as well as a classic car that you can load the entire family in for weekend cruising, I think that I’ve got just the car for you!
‘Red Hills Rods & Classics’ is very happy to offer you this gorgeous 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air 4-Door Hardtop, finished in its factory original (Code 822D) Dusk Pearl Metallic/Imperial Ivory, wrapped around its factory original (Code 670) Black & Silver Cloth/Vinyl interior (per the original cowl tag). This ’57 Bel Air 4-Door Hardtop is a real ‘survivor’ and one of the most original classic cars that I have seen for a long time. The odometer shows 82,180 miles, which we believe to be 100% original mileage. She left the factory ‘loaded’ w/ rare options, including: Factory Air-Conditioning, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power Windows, Power Seat, Tissue Dispenser, Wastepaper Basket, etc. She has had one re-paint in the factory original colors (Dusk Pearl Metallic/Imperial Ivory) approximately 15 years ago, and the paint still looks absolutely beautiful. The body is super straight all the way around, and the paint has been meticulously buffed/polished and retains a brilliant, shiny appearance throughout. If you look very closely you may find a couple of very small blemishes here & there, but overall the paint still shows incredibly well. All of the massive chrome pieces, stainless & gold trim is 100% original and still looks amazing, w/ a slight bit of patina here & there. She sits on the original 14” steel wheels w/ original ‘spinner’ hubcaps, wrapped w/ new white-wall radial tires. Again, this Bel Air is mostly all-original and is in absolutely incredible condition for being 62 years old! You can walk around the car a hundred times and she looks beautiful from every angle. The undercarriage is mostly all-original as well, w/ the exception of a new exhaust system & new gas tank, and the floors appear to be extremely solid from front to back (see photos).
Open the driver’s door and you will find an original Black & Silver Cloth/Vinyl interior, and when you slide in it feels like taking a step back in time when American automobile companies were building ‘timeless’ machines. The interior shows only minor wear and is in excellent condition throughout. All of the original gauges, factory air-conditioning, power windows, power seat, lights, blinkers, etc. are in perfect working order, and even the original clock works like new! The original radio was replaced w/ a reproduction Wonder Bar unit that looks correct and fits in nicely. The original aluminum dash insert shows a little bit of patina but is still in excellent condition for its age. Please look closely at the interior photos to see how well this car has been maintained over the years. The trunk area is complete w/ the original rubber trunk mat, spare wheel/tire & jack assembly. Even the original ‘Jack Stowage & Jacking Instruction’ sticker is still in place.
Pop open the hood and you will find the original 265ci V8 motor, which was upgraded w/ a 4-barrel carburetor/4-barrel intake manifold (originally a 2-barrel), as well as original Power Pack equipment. The 265ci V8 motor was rebuilt to factory specifications at the time of the repaint and she runs like a top, as adding the 4-barrel carburetor & Power Pack equipment certainly woke up the motor. The original ‘Harrison’ air-conditioning equipment, original glass windshield washer bottle, and many other hard to find components are all in place. The motor is linked to the original Powerglide automatic transmission, which feeds power to its original rear axle. She fires up instantly, and runs, drives & performs beautifully in every way. The new exhaust system & cherry bomb mufflers sound excellent and let her breathe a little better for sure.
This is a very unique classic car that retains original qualities that make her very special indeed. Again, if you have been searching for an original ’57 Chevy Bel Air that can be driven & enjoyed to the fullest, and can fit the whole family in for those weekend getaways, you will want to take a very close look at this beautiful 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air 4-Door Hardtop.
