SOLD!

Mopar collectors & fanatics, wake up!

Red Hills Rods & Classics’ is thrilled to offer you this absolutely gorgeous award-winning 1974 Plymouth Roadrunner, a spectacular one-of-a-kind Plymouth muscle car that is the last of the greats, an ultra-rare example from the end of an amazing era, just like the last great album from a legendary Rock & Roll band! This rare Bird has won numerous awards @ various Mopar events throughout the country, and was invited to SEMA for their ‘Mopar Alley’ display, as well as ‘Mopars @ The Playboy Mansion’! It was also featured in ‘Mopar Collectors Guide’ in June 2011, immediately after the no-expense spared restoration was completed. After 16 years of selling high-end classic cars & muscle cars, including hundreds of rare Mopars, I have never seen another example quite like it!

Currently listed in Galen Govier’s Registry as #4 of 11 in VIN sequence of all 1974 360 4-barrel powered Roadrunner 2-Door Coupes, it is safe to say that this Bird is just about as scarce as they come! Two original fender tags loaded w/ factory options make her even more desirable. All colors & options on this 1974 Plymouth Roadrunner are 100% correct, just as she left the factory! The original fender tags read as follows: First Row: (E58) 360 4bbl 245hp V8 motor, (D21) A833 4-Speed Manual Transmission, (RM21) Plymouth Roadrunner 2-Door Coupe, (L) 360 4bbl V8, (4) Model Year 1974, (G) Assembly Plant St. Louis, (159818) Sequence Number. She was beautifully restored to show-quality standards, yet drives & performs perfectly in every way! Let’s just simply say: ‘She’s A Winner! This amazing Roadrunner retains all of its factory original sheet metal, including front fenders, rear quarters, floor pans, trunk pan, doors, etc., and all panels are laser straight & beautifully aligned. The factory correct (KB5) Lucerne Blue Metallic paint (Base Coat/Clear Coat), an absolutely beautiful color by the way, was professionally applied, along w/ the factory correct (V8W) & (V9W) white transverse stripes & white hood performance stripes. This color combo really pops, and looks spectacular on this car!

When you slide into the beautiful (D6B6) Blue Bucket Seat Interior, you will swear that it’s 1974 all over again, as if you were sitting on the showroom floor at your local Plymouth dealer! The seats, dash, door panels, carpeting, everything appears ‘As New’ and 100% stock throughout w/ concourse touches everywhere that meets the eye. It is simply one of the most beautiful interiors that I have ever seen on 70’s era Mopar! All gauges, lights, blinkers, etc. have been sorted out & are in perfect working order.

Pop open the hood, and you will be delighted to find an engine bay that has been meticulously detailed to concours specifications throughout! Nestled inside you will find a factory original 360ci V8 motor beautifully dressed in correct colors, linked to the factory original A833 4-Speed Manual Transmission, which feeds power to the factory 8.75” rear axle w. 3.23 gears. She starts, idles, runs & performs beautifully in every way, and is an absolutely BLAST to drive! She shifts through all four gears just as smooth as butter, and has plenty of power & torque to spare. Nothing in the world quite feels like holding a Pistol-Grip shifter firmly in your right hand while you mash the throttle down to the floor! The Power Disc Brakes & Power Steering make driving around town effortless, and on the freeway she glides down the road like a dream. The optional 28” radiator keeps her nice & cool, which comes in handy on those hot summer days! A ‘Big Bang For The Buck’ does not come close to describing this rare Bird!

This is a very special car that you rarely if ever see, especially an example in such amazing condition! She represents the last ditch effort from Plymouth before all the greatness disappeared forever. Galen Govier’s GTS Registry paperwork reflects the fact that this car is a (1) of (1) built in several categories. Documentation includes: the original Owners Manual, original Chassis Service Manual, original Body Service Manual, original Dealer Brochure, and the Galen Govier’s Registry paperwork. Several awards & plaques will go with the car, including a show board from SEMA where they represented the car as ‘The Last Gasp’, as well as a copy of ‘Mopar Collectors Guide’ June 2011 where it is prominently featured as ‘The Open Air Bird’.

If you have been searching for an early 70’s Plymouth Roadrunner that will separate you from all the others out there, then you have found your car! There are no others examples that can compare, period. Actually, as I previously stated, w/ these options & colors, no others were even produced! Mopar fans, here is one that you will not want to miss!
